Disclosure > What is an Invention.
For purposes of the policy, an "invention" is any discovery or
invention, whether patentable or not. Examples of inventions include new and improved devices and compounds; novel
biological materials such as proteins, genes, cell lines and transgenic animals; diagnostic tests; new uses of known
articles or substances; algorithms; software; and any other tangible research property.
If you think you have an invention, disclose it to CSRL promptly -
before you submit a manuscript for publication, before you address a meeting, conference, seminar or symposium.
The easiest way to disclose an invention is complete the invention disclosure form and forward to CSRL.
